YBM PLN was developed as an exclusive platform for PT PLN employees across Indonesia to connect donors and beneficiaries. The application aimed to streamline the process of reporting and distributing aid, ensuring that every donation was transparent, accountable, and effectively monitored. By digitizing the aid distribution process, YBM PLN sought to create a more structured and impactful approach to philanthropy within the PLN community.

The application aimed to streamline the process of reporting and distributing aid, ensuring that every donation was transparent, accountable, and effectively monitored. By digitizing the aid distribution process, YBM PLN sought to create a more structured and impactful approach to philanthropy within the PLN community.

Designing the application involved addressing several challenges. One key issue was creating a user flow that was efficient and straightforward to cater to users of varying technical proficiency. The process, from submitting a report (creating a thread) to documenting the impact of the aid, needed to be intuitive and concise. Additionally, the interface had to accommodate an older demographic, with many users aged 40 and above, necessitating a design that prioritized simplicity and clarity.

As the UI/UX Designer, I was responsible for overseeing the entire design process, from initial research and wireframing to prototyping and final handover to developers. Using Figma as the primary design tool, I crafted an application that included core features such as reporting beneficiaries, facilitating donations, and managing aid distribution. In version 2, a crowdfunding feature was added, allowing users to create threads with specific fundraising goals, further enhancing the platform’s functionality. Throughout the process, the focus was on creating a user-friendly interface that balanced simplicity and efficiency to cater to a diverse demographic, including many users over 40 years old.

The YBM PLN application is now live on both the Play Store and App Store, enabling PLN employees to contribute to and monitor philanthropic activities seamlessly. The project highlighted the importance of tailoring design to diverse user needs, ensuring accessibility and clarity for all. Moving forward, optimizing and expanding features based on user feedback will be key to enhancing its impact and usability.
